Privacy Policy

A2Z Image Craft ("the app") is developed and published by Bitty ("we", "us"). In short: your photos stay on your phone, and we do not collect personal data through the app.

1. Your photos stay on your device

  • Every tool in the app (resize, background removal, crop and rotate, shape cutter, photo adjustments, text on photo, add watermark, social media and online shop sizes, passport and ID photo, compress, format converter, document scanner, print size and collage) works on your phone.
  • Your photos, scans and PDF files are never uploaded to us or to any server operated by us.
  • We have no account system. You do not need to sign up or sign in.

2. Permissions the app uses

  • Photos and files: you choose each photo or PDF yourself through the Android system picker. The app does not ask for permission to read your whole photo library.
  • Camera: "Take a Photo" opens your phone's own camera app, and the Document Scanner's camera screen is provided by Google Play services. The app does not ask for camera permission itself.
  • Storage (Android 9 and older only): needed to save edited images to your Pictures folder. Newer Android versions need no permission for this.

3. Data stored only on your phone

The app keeps a small amount of data on your phone so it works smoothly:

  • Recently edited, saved list and drafts: a list of photos you opened or made, with small previews, so you can continue your work. You can clear it in Settings > Privacy. Removing an item from these lists never deletes the photo from your gallery.
  • Your saved styles: such as text styles in Text on Photo and your saved watermark in Add Watermark.
  • Your settings, such as the theme.
  • Saved images and PDFs, written only when you tap Save, to Pictures/A2Z Image Craft or Documents/A2Z Image Craft.

We cannot see any of this data. It is deleted when you clear it in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. If you have turned on Android's own backup in your Google account, Android may include the app's settings in that backup, under Google's control.

Photo location: by default, the app removes GPS location from photos it saves. You can choose to keep it in Settings > Privacy > Keep photo location.

4. Google services used by the app

  • Google ML Kit (background removal backup): the app removes backgrounds with a built-in model on your phone. If that model cannot start, the app uses Google ML Kit, provided through Google Play services. The photo is still processed on your phone and is not sent to Google.
  • Google ML Kit Document Scanner: when you scan a document, the camera screen and scanning are handled by Google ML Kit through Google Play services, on your device. Your scans are processed on your phone and are not uploaded by the app.
  • Google ML Kit face detection (Passport & ID Photo): the app may use on-device face detection to centre the face in the guide. The photo is not uploaded.
  • Google Play: when you download or update the app, Google Play may collect information such as crash reports and install statistics, which Google may share with us in summary form.

Google Play services may download ML Kit parts once, and Google may collect basic device information and usage and performance data about ML Kit to maintain and improve it. These services are covered by Google's Privacy Policy.

5. What we do not do

  • No advertising in the app.
  • No analytics or tracking tools in the app.
  • No selling, renting or sharing of personal data.
  • No in-app purchases or payments.

6. When you contact us

If you contact us for support, through the contact form on our website or by email, we receive your name, your email address and your message. Messages from the contact form are delivered to us by Web3Forms, a form delivery service. We use them only to reply to you and to improve the app. We do not share them with anyone else, and we delete them when they are no longer needed. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

7. Sharing images

When you tap Share, the image goes to the app you choose (for example WhatsApp or Gmail). From then on, that app's own privacy policy applies.

8. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data by email, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Because your photos are processed on your phone and not sent to us, they are not exposed to risks on our side. Saved images are stored in normal folders on your phone, so keep your phone protected with a screen lock.

10. Your rights

If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another region with data protection laws, you have the right to ask us what personal data we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. Because the app does not collect personal data, the only data we may hold is support messages you sent us. To use these rights, email us. You may also contact your local data protection authority; in Belgium this is the Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).

11. Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app adds features that change how data is handled, for example advertising or paid features, we will update this policy before or at the same time as that version is released and change the date at the top. Important changes will also be shown in the app.

12. This website

a2zimagecraft.com has no ads, no cookies, no analytics and no tracking scripts. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may keep technical logs such as IP addresses for security, under GitHub's privacy statement.

The online tools on this website work inside your browser. Photos and pages you choose are processed on your own device and are never uploaded. Remove Background and Passport & ID Photo download a small cut-out model (U²-Net, open source under the Apache 2.0 licence) from this website the first time you use them. Some tools can remember your choices, such as your watermark text, in your browser only; you can clear this in your browser settings.
